Style.com: Stephen Burrows Spring 2013 Review
SEPTEMBER 13, 2012
By Alison Baenen
“These are relaxed, comfortable clothes,” Stephen Burrows said before his presentation at the Out hotel. “Easy on, easy off.” In other words, Burrows stayed in his comfort zone. Hard to blame him when it’s clear he has so much fun playing with slinky jersey, ultra-brights, and optimistic prints season after season. Spring’s palette featured turquoise, coral, and cherry red, and the prints were like feline graffiti—colorful, mixed-up splotches and cat spots. A coral tank dress trimmed in yellow and red hit in all the right places, and a skirt in deep teal with triangular seaming was made for twirling. Burrows’ vision may not change much from season to season, but he always delivers a jolt of joy. These are clothes for moving around in and, if the mood is right, in and out of. Easy on, easy off.
